I learned about them from loggers, only one that leeps your feet dry all day in the rain without soaking through
Danner does use a very good waterproof Goretex liner.

For people that are not able to tie there shoes any more like me, I like the new balance velcro close chucks, and the cabelas snow runners with the cable system. Much easier for me to wear. Both are size 14 D which also makes it even harder to walk in when you can't walk very well to begin with.

The last pair of wolverines I had I wore one 5 week job and they were stretched and so uncomfortable I threw them away. These thorogood are the only ones I've had in years besides red wings that didn't suck.

Same here. The last 2 pair of Wolverines I had both ripped out in the heel within 6 mo. They are not the quality they used to be.
Back to Red Wings.

I did pick up a new pair of Whites for $100.

My last red wings blew out on me well before they should have maybe 6 months on them. To be fair I was running playing around with a football. I was pretty disappointed still. I'm actually wearing Irish setters now I like the smooth sole electrical ones cause they don't hold mud or *s-word on the bottoms. I can't really find that in many good boots Anyone else run smooth boots

image.jpg I go outta my way for smooth ones as I always find mud and if you have cleats it sticks and you track it everywhere This is the boot I've been running for years. It is not red wing now it's Irish setter by redwing. The one with the old red wing name held up better I wanna see if they still offer it. Those boots are 140 at full price. I'd recommend them

The only downside on the smooth bottoms is zero traction. They are terrible in dirt and snow. Like ice skates.

I wasn't impressed with Danner at all. I bought a pair of composite toed a couple years back for work. In 6 months they had a dime sized hole in the toe completely through the leather. They were very comfortable but was very disappointed in the leather being so soft. I've had my Red Wings for a year and half with no issues.

I agree. Those boots are a cheaper style that they tried coming out with. The Arcadia and Ft Lewis names are their signature boots.
