I have an 044 10mm, an 044 12mm and an MS440. I like all of those. I've had a 365 with the 372 cylinder on it, a Jonsered 2171 and a PM700. I like the Stihls because they work, are similar to all the other saws in my line up and they don't have spring anti-vibe which I dislike.

I'm not sure. I love the sound of my ported 372 for about 5-10 min. After that it makes my head hurt (and that's w/EarPro). Having now run a few 044s I almost like them better w/their exhaust note and torque. I have yet to try a MS 441, or 046/460/461, or Dolmar 7300. Stock the 7900 is a damn fine saw with nice a/v but certain parts seem a bit fragile to me. I also haven't tried a 576xpAT but don't really like the feel of them when holding them. They might grow on me during use though?
Pure performance? - 372xp
Feel? - 044
Torque - 7900
all around? maybe a 7900, SOLO 8000 (or 8100?) or MS461

Then again, given that I cut firewood in the Mid-West, I'm leaning more and more towards a ported 40cc/60cc/90+cc plan. Something like either a 242xp or MS241, my 562xp and then a 390xp, 395xp, MS661 or something bigger. A Husky 2100, Stihl 076/090, Mac 797 or Poulan 655BP might be fine... The little saw does the limbing/freeing, the 562 does the lion's share and the big saw comes out for feeding time...

Then again, I'm currently on a 7 (working) saw plan w/a few possibilities waiting in the wings so what do I know about self, control. I will say that I don't really like taking more than 2-3 saws out anymore as after using 5 or more saws, you then have that same number to clean/service/sharpen/etc which quickly becomes a PITA for those w/limited screw-off time...

I get that, I have so many completed "project saws" that I want to try out. But not enough time, wood, or enough hands to run them all. Actually got a 372)project done tonight. Really excited to try it out, but don't know when I'll get the chance.[emoji30]

I have owned the 372xp, the 365xt, the 2171, and the 440. I like the older style 372/2171 better than new style 372 and the 440. To me the Husky models are better balanced with the 24" bar than the 440 was. I ended up trading the 440 for an 034s.
