I think im going to be running vintage saws this fall. And more specific midrange... put my kit saws away for now and my bigger saws and kinda changed direction for now.

Yeah for some reason the old homelites seem to have evaded be for now I would love an xl 12 for firewood season. As of late im liking the torque of the old saws. Just something about old magnesium and the fall air.

Dolmar PS-6400, Dolmar PS-7900, and anxious to give my latest addition the Dolmar PS-7310 a try! :)

My Dolmar PS-6400 will continue to wear the 72DL Stihl Rapid Duro3 carbide tipped loop I have - they make a very good match.

My Dolmar PS-7900 will be wearing an aggressively set 2/3's worn 72DL TriLink semi chisel loop making her fit for dirty log duty.

The Dolmar PS-7310 I might try different B&C's on and take her through her paces, see what she's hiding under her black hood.

All I need is my firewood logs to be delivered.

This is the first home I have lived in since I was a kid where I can burn wood. So, my theme will mostly be just cutting and splitting as much as possible. The saws I use the most are in the 40cc range: Echo CS-400, Poulan 2150, and hopefully the Stihl 024 when it gets running again.

Those are good looking I like the dolmars allot. Very hard to come by up here nearest dealer is about an hour away.

Try Fleabay. There are always some nice used ones there for a reasonable price. Right now there are a few 510's in the low $200.00's.

@vtrombly1 you should contact one of our illustrious members that deals in the Dolmar/Makita line.

I want a 80cc+ homelite, bigger the better.
Yeah I agree a 925 would be a very nice find. I have a few old poulans before the name got sold off I like to run also. Is it true dolmar will be phased out to just Makita? Not too many saw gtg up in this neck of the woods.

Same here I have been burning in this home the last two years. I like that class of cc of saws. I have many 50ccish saws that I tend to frequent for those longer days of cutting a poulan 3400 and a pioneer p 28 that is easy to carry around but decent power.

Makita has been making moves to pull the plug on the Dolmar brand here for a couple of years now. The Dolmar USA website is still up and there are a bunch of Dolmar saws still available at retail though. We've discussed and cussed this to death in other threads. I think the net effect is, it's just going to push more dealers and customers into Stihl, Husky, and Echo.
