HELP! Jonsered 2260 carb

Got a couple quick questions about the carb on the 2260. I inherited this saw a while back and it used to be used by my dad logging so been used... Anyway cleaned it up and fixed the primer and got it running but it doesn't start or idle great and sounds like the auto tune is just way off. I ran almost 3 tanks through it this weekend and it made it better but talking to my dad he said it never idled great from new and never ran as good as his 562. So now to the question could the screen in the carb be plugged should I put a kit in it and clean it or do you think it just needs the piss ran out of it? Do the diaphragms usually go bad in these carbs or not?

I'd say start with a carb kit with new fuel filter and new lines wouldn't be a bad idea .
As far as auto tune goes I can't say much as I don't have one .

I remember seeing a thread at one point where these came with trash in the system and it almost immediately blocked the screen I wonder if that happened to this one

Unfortunately the carb itself may be at fault. If it were mine I would clean and kit the carb and have it flashed with the most current software. If this does not work and you can't live with it your next step is to replace the carb. When I rebuilt my beater straight gassed 562 I went through the carb, but it still stumbles off idle. For bucking firewood it isn't an issue for me, and it runs great otherwise, so I ignore it.

I can live with it like it is but if someone thinks it is worth trying the rebuild I may go for it. Who can flash it husky dealer?

Anyone have a picture of what it looks like under the Welch plugs? I think the center jet is plugged but can't tell and don't want to pull the Welch plug unless I have too

There's a field reset procedure that can be tried. Seen it work several times. Pick a log on the ground. Start a cut with the end of the bar 4 inches in the wood and walk down the length of the log. Has to be one continuous full throttle cut at least 45 seconds long to reset the high speed. Lo speed samples every 3 minutes so you have to set and down and walk away. Of course you can only do that with a saw that will idle well enough not to stall. Best therefore to do the hi speed cut first. Did all this on a 555 that had been sitting and ran like crap. Cleared up and ran like new.
