Helluva slab there! Looks great, but too bad it cost you another chain. Was this thing next to a nail factory or what?

You might be waiting a while, a year or so to dry this big sod!! But yes I'll take lots of photos when I start working it. Sadly the tree was on a fence line that must have had a number of erections over the years!

Just finished this cabinet for my wife's birthday with some black walnut, Homemade hardware, hand cut dovetails, ebony drawer pulls.

Drawer fronts were cut from one piece for grain matching.

Just another update, got the slab off for the table top and then hit yet more nails buried 12 inches into the tree!

Long and short is I trashed my third chain on this log so it's been ringed up for firewood!! That'll teach me to try and mill a yard tree!

However, I got this beauty, here it is soaked in pentacryl to try and stop it warping and cracking View attachment 34012
And the nail that my mill spat out at me with great velocity View attachment 34013


Ouch, That's a good looking slab.
