So I am working on a upgrade the sdc carb on my 125 to a wb, the carb I have has a straight fuel inlet, I am going to need a 90° to be able to hook up a fuel line. I don’t want to ruin the carb, so anybody that has done something similar, or has advice...help!!DDD1A38A-9A12-4075-BDA2-15DE4F80EA5A.jpeg
This is the measurements od of the inlet

I have a fixed jet Tilly I could rob the inlet off, it’s too large and would need turned down, but is a possibility. The wb37 has a 90° fuel inlet, but I don’t know if it’s available to purchase? And the wb37 is too large for my needs

You can try to tap in another elbow, but I can tell you from experience, they can leak air there once you mess with them. Best bet is a small piece of fuel line plumbed into a 90 you pull out of a junker carb.

How long is the fitting coming out of the carb, minus the flared end?
Whats the o.d. on it as well? Minus the flared part.

I've made my own custom 90 fuel fittings on the lathe with a 4 jaw chuck before.

Do you need it for that large fuel line or will a standard size fit. Dave has some walbro 90's and you could use a bushing to make it fit the carb.

We used to seal them in with Indian Head shellac but I hear that won`t stand up to the alcohol in the fuels now. Would Seal All be a better more modern sealant?

That is my concern, an air leak, I don’t have enough room to do plumb one in.

The length to the barb is .280 and od is .219, I only have a 1/2 inch to the air box wall

It’s not for more fuel it’s just tight! Do you have a like to those 90°s? I will try to look it up

I was wondering what a good sealer would be if I go that route, there will not be any alcohol mix fuel!

I was just thinking if a guy could cut off the flare, a pipe thread and a 90 degree brass fitting. But, just a hair over a quarter inch isn't much room to work that.

Can the original fitting be removed without wrecking the carb?

I pulled the fitting out of the tillyF6E23B1E-61A5-431B-8191-FD1DC3BBC298.jpeg
It measures a .1545-ish at the tip and .157 to the elbow so about a .002 taper, look like they drilled a standard 5/32 hole, my drill bit measured .1545, so could probably cut the barb and drill the hole, and it would be a taper fit maybe use some locktight to seal it

I use red loctite to seal them when I install them.

Generally bits cut a little over sized than measured depending on how much material it is removing. To get most accurate press I always drill the hole with something a little smaller first and then ream it with the final size bit.

I know walbro still sells the banjo type 90's, got one one for an HDA 87.

Not sure if you could cross reference a size.
