I think I only had 3 saws when I dropped that Chestnut Oak, a 362, 044 and a Smittybilt ported 046.

The B+C on the 046 jammed up because the tip was buried (and I was leaning on it), so I finished it off with the 044.

Yea, about 30 - 40% of trees on my upstate 50 acres are Ash, most are still alive even though storms have blown lots of them over.

I'm hoping it stays that way. If they all die it will be like a ghost town!

Seems the older trees are mostly Ash, Black Cherry and Hard Maple, but the newer trees are mostly Black Birch and Red Oak. Not a single White Oak or Hickory up there. Also lots of Stripe Maple, but they don't get too big.

We got to finish it up with a nice buncher flat actually, that they let us hand-cut. Hopefully we keep getting work, but things are pretty slow because of the virus related issues. Everything mostly cut with Stihl 461’s.

Sugar maple. I'm at about 20' here with a Husqvarna 262xp wearing a 20" bar. The stump was cut with a Poulan Pro 655 with a 36". I didn't think it was going to reach. At about 2' in at the stump it was hollow and full of water. In the photo I am 6'5" and 230lb.
