Where’s the best place to get ms 462 felling dogs? Tree guy I fix saws for loves the 462 but can’t stand the small single spike. Went to dealer and he looked the west coast dogs for a 462 and tried to order them one was on back order and other was an invalid part number even though it came from stihls site. Now I’m looking at aftermarket ones any suggestions? Lots of big silver maple with coarse bark.

1122 series Stihl spikes are a bolt on fit for the 462 and 500i.

The lowly oh 39 milling lumber. Saw ran great except the single plastic starter pawl (really Stihl?) Started failing. Simple part to replace....I might just fab one out of steal....for the Stihl. The saw didn't melt, catch on fire or explode so not bad over all.

They'll plug right along fer sure. 24" setup is about as much as the oiler wants to handle, tho. Won't mind a 15 degree milling chain one bit if not pushed too hard. And set it up with dual pawls. Much better.

Have a MS210 in need of a crank if anyone happens to have one they can part with. The whole shortblock or parts saw would be fine if the price is right.

Afternoon.
Some of you run K&N air filters on 066 Stihl saws with a velocity stack. My question is does it help out some on a non ported Stihl 066 with a few mods and the dual port muffler?

No idea. But,more air out, needs more air in. Or so I’d think.

I’ve got a stack setup I run on a stock 026, for phits and sickles.

I have a co-worker who wants to get his old saw up and running again. It has ran in the past, but has been sitting around for some time. It is a Stihl 042 AV.
I am tracking down a fuel line, fuel filter, and a carb kit for this saw.

Does anyone have experience with the available aftermarket fuel lines on ebay, etc?

How does K&N filter compare to MaxFlo as far as performance goes on these 066s?

In my opinion, both are great options. For the K&N to mount it would need the Vstack adapter. So it changes the way the air is introduced into the system. So i would think this would be a better performance upgrade over the MaxFlo.

Not just saying this because I make and sell vstacks. Just my opinion.
