Overly tight chain probably killed it.

Bingo, angular cheek breaks are torsional, or deflection induced failures.

Over the years, I’ve seen a lot of saws, but very few 088, 880 and no 881 yet.

Yet the ones I’ve seen, they’re in pieces and the crank is broke.

I’m told they’re junk. No power, 660’s always out perform the 8 series.

I’ve got no experience with those big saws yet.

Are they actually pretty good or actually bad for cranks?

On a quick inspection one of the carb bolts backed out. Dunno if it was all air leak but that crank is cooked. Cylinder barely even scuffed

Pretty impressive fail. Thought of you when I pulled the top end. I know how you like a kilt crank

None. That's old, just finally took a pic of it.
It's the 441.

SD143- Bent it tightening down the cylinder before checking for clearance between the transfer and the case. Broke one second after contacting wood.
