You probably crumple your TP too…

Seriously though, certain saws don’t tension right if you don’t lift. I could see alignment being an issue, though I’ve never had that problem. My 395 has way too much chain slop if you let the bar hang. Surprisingly, so does my 2511. I haven’t noticed any difference on a 550.
No lol.
I've never had that problem.
On the 395 you have to tension it on the front ;):pancarta:.

Tell me about it. Might be the main reason to be excited about the 592.

Just a little :stick::taptap:.
How you doing Tim.
Was down your way for a hot second over the holiday.
Doing good my friend. Hope you and yours had a good Christmas. Sometime soon I need to come check out that barn.

So "down my way" isn't necessarily the same. I am not at the farm anymore. I still have a place down there though until my daughter graduates in June.

I'm not a front tensioner fan at all.
I'd buy a 661 before a 395 and you know I like orange. Now a 592 sounds good to me :).

Knowing you there’s a real pretty version of all three hidden away somewhere.

I know what you’re saying but for me power to weight trumps ease of maintenance when the big bars come out. I’ve never had the 880 up the tree because of the 395. I don’t have a 661 (sadly), but I’ve sent the 066 down many times for the 395. 395 also rules the stump cuts. I’m no logger though. 661 is probably nicer for that.

592 looks like something more akin to a 661 or 390. I have a feeling 395 will holds its place. Stupid tensioner and all.

Eager to get my mitts on a 592 regardless…and a 661 for that matter.

550mk2 question: anybody run one over 9000’ elevation? I have one here and it’s running pretty fat. Presumably it’s updated to the latest software. It’s only about 3 months old. Any point in taking it to a dealer? I’ve been through the whole saw. Everything looks good but she won’t rev and runs like a slug.

Use the tip of the bar and rip a log lengthwise for 3 minutes without letting off the throttle

Nope, I've owned 394s and 395's and a few 661, but I see no need to own one again myself. If I get into something that I need to run a 36 for an extended time, I have buddies locally with ported 395's, 3120's, 880's and others, they like to make money. If that didn't work, I'd go buy a 661 and sell it when the job was done. If it's just a few cuts the ported 70cc saws will get it done in most instances.

Now, back to the plump 550:risas3:.

Check/change the fuel filter. And ive had to do that field reset a couple times on real poor running saws. Had a 562 here that needed it 2 times after a rebuild due to a air leak. I did the multiple minute tip cut and it was alot better. Burnt a tank thinking it would finish tuning but it never did. So i refilled it made sure it waa good and warm and did it once more paying close attention to control the feed pressure and rpm. After that reset it was near perfect. Im amazed how long it takes the auto tunes take to tune. They seem to learn a bad tune much faster then a good one.

Haha. I held one the other day at the local pawn shop....yes, plump. Weighs about as much as an MS361.
