I drilled and ground the spotwelds out, got the whole cat holder piece out and left it like this, I’ll probably go back in and grind out the gills but it sure breathes nice now. Next is ps chain!

Given your fondness of 2-series saws you won’t be disappointed. I don’t own a 272 but I’ve run a friends and I walked away wanting it but alas he wouldn’t let it go. I really need a gap filler for in between my 262 and 288 too...lol! I don’t worry about the 372 being stronger, I like 2-series they’re great running saws, they’re also about the simplest saws to work on if wrenching is needed. Buy it and smile
