I finally just removed the cover on my hybrid and that helped a ton.

I believe Dr Al told me that putting frog skins in the filter cover will keep the filter cleaner. I guess it draws more air that is not polluted with what you are cutting. Made me thing of removing all those black "bridges" that seal between the filter cover and the saw (on 460s and 660s).

Put a wing nut on the filter and toss the cover

I use the max flow plates if I use the highly regarded world renowned HD2 air filter...and an outerwear with it.

@Definitive Dave has them. It's a replacement for the flippy cap

Dave has been out for a while.i sent him a p.m. asking about them a few days ago.he hasnt respnded yet.i tried the ones from left coast supply and didnt like them and sent them back.they were extremely tight.i bought 3 sets of them like i said they were hard as hell to get off and on extremely tight
