there is no trampoline and water šŸ˜‰
The deer, bear, coyote, bobcat and fox don't seem to mind! This will replace the tree stand for my brother we built about 30 years ago. He is having some back issues, and this will be much easier for him to get into and use.

Errā€¦. It was yesterday.
I needed some storage, mostly for seasoned firewood and lumber so I came up with this.
I started Friday afternoon after work and got some time in between monsoon downpours this weekend. Most of it came together yesterday.
Building is hard solo, thank god for clamps (to hold my levels). There was some confusion on my part checking the deck for square. Not having a second person to help for the old corner to corner measurement, took me back to high school geometry. At one point I thought Pythagoras was a liar, the old 3,4,5 (a2+b2=c2) had me with a rectangle, where all four corners were at an angle less than 90*, an impossibly. It was Friday and I was tired. Saturday I realized I was pulling the ā€œaā€ and ā€œbā€ dimensions from the outside of the rim joists and trying to measure the ā€œcā€ leg from the inside. I put my tool belt down 25 years ago to sit behind a desk, so some rust is expected.
Itā€™s 12ā€™ wide and 5ā€™ deep. I didnā€™t want to mess with concrete, so I went with the little concrete feet things. Iā€™m not a fan of them. I wanted some storage underneath for 8ā€™ lumber on the right and a big drawer on the left. I drew it up ahead of time, but now I donā€™t care for the height. I guess Iā€™ll figure it out.
Anyway, I always forget how much fun it is to build. Iā€™m not sure if itā€™s that Iā€™m older and focus more on enjoying the moment rather than getting done, or if itā€™s the novelty since I donā€™t do it every day.

Took 5 Oregon .063ā€ EXL skip 92dl chains I got from @Greg Newman and turned them into 4 105dl chains for my new to me XS 461

And shortened two once used 114dl stihl 33rs chains I got cheep on fleabay into 105 dl to fit a husky bar I got from @Cat 525

With a madsens pocket breaker spinner (punch and plate)

Still gotta figure out what to do for that 110 DL .058ā€ bar. Might grind it out or pinch it down to 050ā€. I have a mess of 20ā€ and 24ā€ chains I hardly use.

Best of luck with your hunt.

I built a new rifle this year ... a 338-06 on a Ruger American Action. (Shaw 24" spiral fluted stainless barrel).

First shot at game, I took a Black Bear with it a few weeks ago in Early Bear season.

I also built a white oak stool from the scrapes I had left over from another project built with my milled wood.

(and a few blocks for my 2 year old grandson)

Yesterday I actually did some tree felling! My grandson got me involved in a volunteer project (through Scouts) to remove some apple trees from in front of a church.

I brought 4 saws and used them all! Two were ported by Randy, two by Dr. Al. (261-18"; 462-20"; 462-24"; and Hybrid 440-460-28"). All the felling was done with the Hybrid. The trees were not tall, but the trunks were wide and irregular, and one had a lot of rot. There were also a million limbs, some of them leaning towards the building. Some branches had to be shortened in advance so the tree could fall properly.

These were the first two, there are more to come.

With the help of some wedges, all went well!

Swapped out tires on my mom's and my car, winter can start now!
Washed the summer tires, gotta stash them when they're dry.
