I guess I made a good shot. Skinned and took the meat off the doe I got with the MZ. Deer was quartering towards me, going down hill, when I shot. Bullet went in the neck half way between head and shoulder, through the lungs, and ended up under the skin on the other side just in front of the hind quarter. Both shoulders were good, both hind quarters were good, and less than an inch of back strap got touched on the one side.

I was very pleased with the lack of meat damage! Time to start cutting it up for the freezer!

Always nice when you dont ruin much meat. This year i got kinda lucky. The little spike i shot was pretty close and i spined him. Went down in his tracks and not an ounce of meat got ruined.
Cant say the same for my second deer. I wasted quite a bit of the front end.

Nice oak already on the ground...

My best friend likes cutting wood too. She gets bummed when it's time to head back...lol

Got back in time to head out into the woods.... popped a little 7 pointer. Not the most impressive rack I've harvested but, you can't eat the antlers :)

All in all, was a good day. Like to have more days like today :)

Last night just got to bed and got woke up to the sound of the sump pump line blowing off and spraying probly 8 plus gallons of water all over the basement. Good thing its not.all finished but is drywalled. Nothing ruined. Good thing for the back up pump while i pulled main and fixed the problem.
I wish i never put that basement in the addition.
Well thats my rant. Sorry to bi tch but i feel better now after a short night of sleep.

That sucks..! I wish I had a basement...lol. I have a pita crawl space. Any plumbing mod, or issue sucks. I hate crawling under the house. My air handler is in my attic as a result.

I built this house (although it is a modular, I rented a little excavator and dug the footings, etc).

I installed both a curtain drain around the property, and a footing drain around the house, so I am one of the few on this block that does not have a sump pump, thank goodness! Now if my well pump would just keep working right!!!

I did the same thing when I built my garage. Drains are good. Lots of folks don't think of, or plan for, drainage.

Because of the location, I had to reroute a couple lines of my drain field too. The tail ends of em were close to my garage approach. I've built every building on my property except the house. House was 8 yrs old when I bought. Fortunately, I'm on high ground, & don't have the water issues that some in my area did this year. We had a ton of rain. However, it would take a Noah type flood for my house to get under water, or have water issues.

Mostly mudded and sanded sheetrock today. Came home and split a bit of a tulip tree I need to make smaller. I do a little here and there as a workout. Sitting in front of the wood burner now with my feet up. Sure like the glass door on it. Looks cozy. Plus it heats the house...

Got to help with some storm cleanup, and repair an electrical service...big spruce was damaged, and rotten about 40’ up. Had some high winds, breaking the spruce into a nice healthy fir, which also broke.

I tested my newest creation in wood today, an Asian Blue 660 w/066 jug on it. I'm pleased with how it ran. I also tested myself a bit, not that I did that much, but first time I cut wood since I pinched a nerve in my back 3+ weeks ago. My PT guy gave it the OK. I did a thread on the build in the Asian saw section.

Was only Red Maple, but the 28" bar barely poked through it. If you really leaned on it you could slow it down, but it kept chugging. I like that in a large saw as I often use them for milling or stumping. The saw started easily, idled smoothly, ran strong, and restarted with the decomp (when warm) very easily. My back appreciated that today!

In addition, my Mustang likes the color!

Cool pics...! Always fun when yer blocks are wider than they are tall. Sure makes for easier splittin though.

....gonna take a lot of trips, hauling that wood away in your mustang
