I ordered a Bicentenial Poulan off eBay for $40 shipped. The description said the motor was seized. These sell for $400 in running condition due to their rarity. Well, turns out the recoil setup is messed up and this thing actually does turn over! Looks clean under the clutch cover and covers. Piston looks great. Can’t wait to finish cleaning it up.

Makita 520 arrived today. Cleaned up decent. Spark plug wire and chain brake/clutch cover are broken. One bolt that holds engine to handle assembly is missing. Prefilter cover missing. It did come with a good bar and chain. Paid $55.

Today, a small metabo for $15 does not have a button on the gear, there was no such thin housing in the past. I think he's 40 years old, the fan bearing needs to be replaced. The stator winding in these models is wrapped with cotton tape

I use these instead of screnches
These don't stab you in the ribs,thigh,sack like a scrench in the pocket can
These are smooth edged.
I use a tuning screwdriver for chain adjustment.
Napa clearanced all craftsman/evercraft tools this was only 20.00
I made my yearly stop to get tuning screwdrivers 5 for a 1.00 at my stihl dealer

I use too wrench L Sandvik and Gedore, I also found two screwdrivers Stihl at the trinket market

Feels like a solid well made machine
And i got a 32.00 28" bar and chain combo off the Amazon
Rails are true and has the upstart style chain I've been running for year's.

I have about 2 more truck loads to go pick up. This was just the first load. I'm going to be selling most of the husky stuff. It's a lot of husky home owner saws. I'll post them in the classifieds here before I go the ebay route.

Do you come across Dolmar/makita saws very often?

Occasionally. I personally have always had a soft spot for dolmar saws. When I very first got into saws about 10 years ago the very first saw I ever did any mods on was a Dolmar 120si. Wish I still had it today.
But yes every now and again I'll get a few of the newer ones from a logger.
