I would leave this piston here for worse pistons, but the saws work

A 25-year-old grinder Bosch for $10, a pre-GWS model. The engine is in much better condition than the housing 😉 I put on a half-inch larger cover and greased the bearing and gears. Green PWS models from this period did not have a spindle lock / See the dial attachment on the outer nut

Riddle for today 😉 what is it?
On the red cylinder/pump. I was looking at that sticker and noting the gas types.
Then looked at those chambers holding something looking like filter material (or ph~chem reactive media?)

Then I was left with thinking of some funky compressive firestarter, the hose looked a bit lightweight though.
Next was something the shop go-fer kid would be trying to turn into drug paraphernalia.
The thumbwheel sorta brings a bic lighter to mind. Is that a ratchet mechanism in it?
The last? uhmm, bits of something from the back pages of an old Hustler magazine.

Yes, there are two filters and the ratchet mechanism rotates freely, so something is missing because there are 2 holes under the mechanizm. It only seems to suck in as if there was a non-return valve or it is damage / If you remove the filters, you can suck out the oil, e.g. from a lawn mower 😉 I picked it up as a curiosity for $2

A 30-year-old Kress random orbital sander for $10, someone used it for a construction job, so the bearings need to be washed and lubricated

Chinese on springs from the Jula supermarket. Swedish, 4-year-old, used, $25. The guy got angry because she didn't want to run. 2.5 turns of the L screw, apparently no one has turned it. It didn't even require cleaning, just sharpening the Sabre chain

No, it's just plastic and a filter and the rest is like other porcelain / The fact that springs are made of porcelain, I haven't seen yet . The left side of the fan is different, the brake is also different, the handle is separate from the clutch cover , Maybe it's actually a copy

I didn't buy it but I ended up with this today.
He said he must have it 30 years but I am skeptical.
He was using it one day it blew the gears connecting the power head to the shaft, said bits of them came out through the air filter 😰😰.
He said to do what I can with it. Thankfully he is in no rush as I got an fs450 to him yesterday for 350 euro. The 450 has a longer, narrower shaft. IMG_20231023_152500.jpgIMG_20231023_152426.jpg

View attachment 394407View attachment 394408

and how much is too much now? I recently saw one in working order here for $333 / The correction in this price was Ms 044 and the newer Ms 440 is an expense for us at least. $500

Grinder for at least 30 years for $10. I hope the switch can be repaired because the engine is very nice. Detachable power cord. Someone must have washed it because there is no grease / it's the spindle lock
