2nd day of spring 1/2 the snow is gone watched 2" of compacted snow ice vanish off the cement slab in front of our store today

Rain and 40°F expected this week? Went digging for the catch basin opening to try and reduce street flooding. Hardest part was finding it! Pavement level was 3' below the top of the snow pile at the curb.

We did this on Sunday as the street in front of our houses was all the way across the street. Drained out in no time and the street has been water free since

The pac in the woods decreased conciderably. Two weeks ago, the deer were dragging their bellies in the snow. Today I could see their knees in most places.

Now we are paying for all the snow. Three rivers in eastern Nebraska and one in western Iowa just jumped their banks. Floods are everywhere. More are expected.
