Good news. A slow ride on the big river helps a stoved up body and mind. I kinda miss that boat.

Have to say after editing the prize list it is really looking stellar indeed, all awesome prizes offered up. Now that doesn't mean that we couldn't use a few more if possible to attract more donations, but not to worry we are trucking along slowly and their is no end date specifically in mind other than when we meet the goal at hand, so there's plenty of time for more folks just hearing about it to get in.
A big thanks for everyone's support in helping make this endeavor a successful one so far, you are appreciated. :)

That’s impressive. People know I’m a firewood guy; they automatically think I’m a tree takedown professional. People call me for stuff like that sometimes. They act surprised when I say, “call a professional! Unless you want your house smashed, car smashed, fence smashed, and power knocked out, I am not your guy!!!” One look at that tree and I am out!!!

Glad you’re getting out. I hope you make a full recovery.

This whole row went in 4 days, chipper was about 500 ft away, *s-wordty job. The pitch was unbelievable..these trees were literally pissing sap.

I HATE white pine.

Stihl varioclean is good at getting blanket sticky pine sap off the stuff that Mudslinger doesn't protect Ryan.

The handles on the saws are literally covered, I'm not cleaning them..someone else can.

I tried kero before, gas works better.
I know gas and all works real well but it’s pretty surprising what goo gone will remove, pitch sticker residue ect. It’s a concentrated orange oil/ citric acid. Kinda a thick liquid spray on let soak and wipe off with rags.

Keep some WD40 handy in your truck and give the saw and bar a good shot of it before cutting to reduce the mess. Will also cut pitch safely but slowly. Lacquer thinner works near instantly but can remove paint as well, especially bar graphics, so some caution is required with its use.
Pitch pockets are a good reason for the industry to bring back some models with manual assisted oilers IMHO.

I LOVE white pines, monster trees. Got plenty here, buck a sawlog and within minutes sap will be oozing out of the ends. It can be a mess but nice smell
