Hmmm. Thanks guys.
I wonder why the re-numbering?
They Re branded the Makita range in the USA from blue /black to the Dolmar colours but still called them Makita. The Makita ea 5000 blue /black was the red and black Dolmar ps-5105 in the US and still is the same in Ero and Germany.

It’s just because they’re only Makita now. Couldn’t call it 5105 anymore.
They had the same saw in teal earlier branded Makita, which was also called 5000.
I believe it’s just to keep a familiar streak through the Makita line.

The 7900 has the same confusing thing about it. Used to be called Dolmar 7900. The Makita version was 7901. Then the new version came out and was called
Dolmar 7910. I don’t think there was a version of the 7910 imported to the US in Makita teal.
Now that it’s all Makita the Dolmar 7910 is called the Makita 7900. Same saw, though.
The red Dolmars had the PS- designation, and the teal Makitas were called DCS.

Now the red Makitas are called EA. For example Makita EA7900P. Same as the old Dolmar PS-7910.

It’s not confusing, is it?? :risas3:
Sorry to more or less double up on the info ...i posted at the same time. :)
