Often a well ported 2 port will hang right with the 4 port counterparts (036/360 - 361 or 460 to 461, etc).
To me they don't have much power difference but feel completely different in my hands.
394/395 is the perfect comparison.
Exactly the same saw but the transfers and intake,394 feels and sounds very nasty and a 395 is smooth.
I haven't ran a 460 that will run with a stout 461 though.
I'm sure there out there though.

I ain't arguing with your guy's opinions here. I'm not being political about it. I still wonder what an 066 and 880 would be like with a TRUE quad port.
R&D for work saw purposes has been covered very well around the forums. But I'm thinking gtg show off/ race type building, so there's a bit more to be curious about.

R&D for work saw purposes has been covered very well around the forums. But I'm thinking gtg show off/ race type building, so there's a bit more to be curious about.
A 661 is basically a quad 660.

I built a 660 quad port, it works

A 661 is basically a quad 660.

True but a quad and a dual aren't the same design.

I don't see any world changing difference between quads and duals

4 port engines have huge advantages over 2 ports, 5 ports are better yet. but I don't thing you understand how they work.
