Decided we needed some more reading material. Thanks to some friends, both local and on here, I'll be able to save this saw.
So I met a local guy at the PA gtg who inquired about porting his old 385xp. He said he had new bearings installed a few years ago, but they didn't hold up. Upon inspection with him at the gtg, the pto case half bearing pocket was wallered out. No big deal as long as most of the other parts are serviceable. I didn't get a pic of the partially disassembled saw as I received it, but you'll get the jist of it. She's gonna need some serious cleaning.
