Big oak blow down. At the point of this first photo, I already got a full trailer load of the 2 big beams (24-27" each):

Went and got another load for Dad after work today. It's nice that we have daylight till about 7 now. This was a big heavy load of spruce. My 359 fell, limbed and bucked this whole load on a tank of fuel. It was on fumes at the end.
Always warms my heart to see a guy out doing something for his Dad...that's a rarity these days, but it sure will extend your days.
Just drove my Pops to Louisville, KY to visit his ailing brother.

This one is probably a 'you suck'

A vendor that I work with sent me an email, asking if I wanted some firewood. His parents have a camp about 2 miles from my office. I went over one weekend day when they were there, and there were about 20 trees worth of wood, all bucked and in windrows. They said it was free, and that they would even help me load it. I took 2 pickup loads, and didn't make a dent. I knew I needed to call in reinforcements.

This weekend, I borrowed a dump trailer, and started running loads. This pic is after Load #3 was dumped in my yard:

I ended up getting 7 loads. I'm going to guess +/- 10 cords. I'll let you know after I get it stacked.

They cut it and split it, and even helped me load the trailer. And then they thanked me for taking it, as it was mostly pine (70% pine I would guess. The rest is maple and cherry). I couldn't thank them enough.

Finally got out in the timber to cut some wood for this winter. The land owner told me about this burr oak late last year and well I just finally got around to working on it. Was a good test for my new 36" bar on the 661.......it was great! A lot of wood was split yesterday............a lot more still there that I need to get......another day. Poor trailer is getting a work out.
