Thanks man. I do love a 346.
I've yet to do a quad. The fine men on here are coaching me quite well along the way. I will soon dig in to my bosses MS362. After, my 461. I've been thoroughly impressed with the saws I've run from husky jonsered, that some of the builders on here have done. I can see the attraction to quads. Seriously, your grinding is beautiful. That intake is slick

I put a 346 top end on a poulan 2700 this winter. Its a snappy little saw.
I've been thinking about getting a good top end and porting it.
I’ve been picking up new, genuine, 346 top ends from eBay. They’re not too expensive in the US. It’s cheaper for me to import them than buy them here. I think the last one was $169 shipped

Nice work! On the 046 I would love to see how much you modified the lower transfer from the original shape + size.

Let us know how they run!

I make the lowers 1–2mm bigger on all four sides on a 46/460.

Here’s the only stock pic I have of the inside of that cylinder

I don't have the equipment to mill the tops of the cylinders so I don't know how difficult it really is, but I'm always amazed how close everyone gets to the cylinder walls without ruining them.

I wouldn’t call it implying, rather inquiring.
