Did I miss the conversation on narrow kerf bar and chains? I am guessing they arent catching quiet like they had hoped. I just ordered an Oregon bar and chain for my Husq 350 to try it out for myself.

I have limited experience but the Husqvarna SP33G (.325 NK semi chisel) on my 550 works well. It’s a reduced kickback chain but still bore cuts alright and stays sharp for a good while. Not very grabby in small limbs but also seems fast in the 14” or so frozen maple and boxelder I was cutting last month.

I am a fan of the 23rs pro. Like it with the stihl light 04 bars. Also use and like it on my 350's with oregon speed cut bars. All the above bars are 16"

Stihl 23RS Pro is some good chain. It fit on my standard Tsumura .050 bar. Might not be 100% perfect, but it works well...

If and when your Tsumura bar wears out. Please try out a speed cut or a light 04. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

The Tsumura regular bars do work. Just not as well as some other options. Imo.

I use 18" oregon speedcut bar on my 350/346 with their semichisel nk chain, cuts good and very light weight.

Narrow Kerf chain came on my Husqvarna 353 many years ago. First I had heard of it, but I used it on a 16" and a 20" bar and like it, so kept buying it for replacement loops. Cut well, easy to sharpen, etc. Was not as easy to find as standard kerf chain, but able to find it on line, and at retailers like Menards, Lowes, farm stores that sell Husqvarna saws, etc.

Only 'issue' I had with it was that the narrow kerf bars were a bit more flexible than I liked, but the newer Oregon Speedcut bars are stiffer.

I know the pro's dont seem to care much for the narrow kerf stuff here in sweden, I think they cant really take the abuse of bore cutting and spruce limbing. Our forests is pretty much spruce plantations, we have hardly any natural forests left.

Interesting. I though that Husqvarna was one of the biggest promoters of NK chain. It has come standard on many of their saws in the US. STIHL guys never heard of it, until a couple of years ago. I though it 'came over' with all the Soren Eriksson stuff.
