My latest project

Here is my latest project, Although not a chainsaw.
This is a 70 Torino Cobra I have had for 10 years. I bought it as you see it.
Previous owner stripped all the paint with paint remover. The car now is
completely disassembled and just a shell sitting on a rolling cradle. It is
heading to the blaster to get sand blasted then to the body shop. When I
get it back it will be all painted and ready for assembly.

Options on this car are.
Tinted Glass
Detroit locker differential
4:30 rear end ratio
Drag Pack
429 super cobra jet
4 speed trans

car has manual drum brakes on all 4 corners. It is also a radio delete car.

Does the body metal have enough integrity to withstand sand blasting or will it look like Swiss cheese when done? Soda might be a better option.

Soda won't cut it. The guy thats doing it doe's it for a living. Uses a special
fine type of sand at low pressure. I have seen one car they did and it was
fantastic. Perfectly clean and no warpage at all.

What kind of restoration are you doing Lee? Back to original show car kinda thing or more of a resto mod Saturday night cruiser?

They are forsale. They are brand new. Polished all the way to the back.

My buddy's uncle has a grabber green Super Cobra Jet. Yours is a cool low option car. 4.30 gears and a 4speed.....Better buy some sticky tires. Those drums should be interesting after a couple of 1/4 mile passes.

They are 5 on 4.75 the rear wheels are 11" wide by 20" the front are 8" by 20"
I can get the fest of the specs in the morning.

I'm going to do my best at a full on concourse restoration. The car is very rare and deserves
to be put back in it's original state. It was drag raced back in the day. I have found a few NOS
parts and still looking for more. I have all of the very hard to find parts except the smog equip.
The car is even a bench seat car with no center console. 4 speed right through the floor. Very
kool look.
I will take pic's along the way as work progresses.

Also the color is Pastel Blue. It looks white. If you google 1970 Ford Pastel Blue you
find some cars that color.

I did this 1969 Mustang. All but the paint. I disassembled and reassembled. Did the motor,
Trans, front suspension etc.

Pastel blue!!! Very nice. Always liked that color over most any from that time period.
