Been in 088 and 880's so....they did not have flood oil pumps. This saw runs, oils and floods just fine. I hear something funny in it so the jug comes off next.

My question is should I leave well enough alone after seeing the oil pump is clean and in nice shape?

IMG_20190510_190944.jpg Found a funny looking color on the piston skirt. Looks brownish like Permatex copper coat on the exhaust side. Piston is pretty good a few scuffs on the exhaust side. Quite usable. Motor is tight. Con rod and crank is mint. No mix oil in it. About dry down there. Hum. Must be that Amsoil 100 to 1

Pics won't come out of my phone.

Took pics with the Kindle Fire. Not bad

Saw also has an almost new muffler. Any Ideas about the copper color? I'm stumped

The jug is nice, wohoo. The bottom end is mint. Who has a piston handy?
Looks like @Definitive Dave for a Meteor or maybe he has something else in his chainsaw bag of tricks, hum...

To port or not to port that is the question.

I'd be glad to add finger ports and ship it to you. Just what you always wanted, an 084 to race

Would you port a saw to resell?

I'm not keeping it. Won't fit any of my bar mounts. Have an ES 36" for it. Nice saw but not for me.
