Mac 10-10. Bought it cheap not running. A little sea foam in there for a week or so and its run perfectly ever since. Considering the era it came from they are pretty impressive 50cc saws.

+1, my pro Mac 10-10S is a beast for its size

272 XP, really any saw on that chassis. The 162 SE was overshadowed by the 262, the 266 was by the 365 and the 268/272 was by the 372. Tough, reliable workhorses that do not get near the respect they deserve.
Agreed except I like my 6 series jonsered.
So maybe my 630 super, overshadowed by the 262 as well and lots of saws really. But bury a 20 inch bar and I bet I know the Victor!
I'm also on the 421 bandwagon great saws!

I actually own a few underestimated saws
Dolmar 6100 - only a hair slower than a 562 but more reliable and more torque
Dolmar 421 - cheap, reliable, and punches above it's class.
Dolmar 7300 - I can't tell the difference between it and a 7900
Jonsered 2159 - muff mod, timing advance and base delete. Great reliable saw
Jonsered 670 - probably overshadowed by a 272 and 044 but will keep up or beat both.
The list could keep on but I'll stop here

Most underrated saw in my book is 246.
It saw the light back in 1994, build on the strongest 242 plattform, quad open port Gilardoni with great timings and compression, very close or equal a healthy 242 from midd range and up.
Most fans prefer to hunt after a 242 due its legendary reputation, a 246 is as close as you get the legend, just cheaper, luckily I own two runners and a project, none of them leaving me!

You guys might laugh but....Jonsered 455. It belonged to our Dad, but is now kind of jointly owned by my brothers and I. Aside from the sentimental reasons, and being the first power saw I ever ran, it's always been just a great little all-round saw. Until a somewhat recent issue we suspect is the coil breaking down, it was reliable as a small block Chevy and did more than it's fair share of work. Love that saw

Husqvarna 42 Special. I put a Tecomec 242xp top end on it. I bought it from a tree service, it was smoked pretty early on in life- and well preserved. I didnt get crazy with it, it was so clean I wanted to keep it stock looking as possible. I love my ms241 dearly, but it wouldnt keep up with this 42 by any stretch.
In all fairness, I did gut the muffler... and I think I did some stuffs to the piston skirt. It doesnt sound "stock," but isnt loud.. and does well as a small firewood saw.

Ryan, you stole my Thunder! Without a doubt it is my MMWS 362. It runs strong and smooth, and I really like it.

Some other ported 60 cc saws may be a bit stronger, but not by much, (and not all of them are) and the rumors of it being too heavy for it's size are mostly BS.

The air filter also stays clean a lot longer than most other Stihl saws.

Mine was the first 362 M Tronic that store sold, and the second one that Randy ported. I'm sure a Ver II (over 1/2 lb less) would be real nice, but I like this one too much to give it up.

Another couple saws come to mind for me are the 024, and 034, very popular around here, my dad still has a 024 he uses, just seems the 026 and 036 overshadow them, but they are great saws in their own right.
