Well one of the pics shows it is, and I think it a version 3, that’s thanks to guys on this site pointing out how to tell.

Not really an update on the 462's, but i will put in here. Not a real test or comparison, it was only for fun and we had not much time left. Fortunately i had the chance to put the saw from this thread against a 462 on our last GTG.

And sorry for my absence in the last weeks, I was and I am very busy at the moment with other stuff, but i'm still trying to get another 462 and a brand new 572xp for a better comparison till autumn. i'l keep you guys updatet.

wow the 565 572 seemed to have excellent torque really user friendly. of course this is a ported saw against a stock 462

565 has some torque. That 39mm stroke seems to be helping it out.

The individual who sharpened the Husky chain, could that individual also sharpen the Stihl chain, & have the same fellow do the sawing?

It’s hard to get an even analysis without running the same Bar & chain on both saws.

I handled one at a shop yesterday and it wins for me over the 462 in terms of in the hand feel. Both are too pricey for me though.

So roughly $30USD less than an MS661CM. Interesting to see what happens over here. Last week was the first time anyone in the employ of Stihl Canada even admitted that the MS462 exists... "around the corner" is what I was told. Pretty big corner I am guessing.
