Idle down problem

Been so busy with other things i havent worked on saws in a good while so ive literally forgotten stuff
Got around to cutting with one of the frankenolys i put tother last fall. Got it tuned in to where ir runs well (kind of, havent done any heavy cutting yet). Problem is that when i let off the throttle it takes really long time to idle down. Adjusted the low side little leaner to where i still have good throttle response but no dice. Now thinking the needle in the carb may need adjusting but im at a loss which way to adjust it.
Someone take mercy on an OF and give me a hint

Bend it up gives more fuel.bend it down less fuel

I had the same issue with an 024, couldn't figure it out and just replaced the carb. It was insanely frustratng

If they won't idle down they're usually too lean, leaning it out will make it worse. Richen it up a quarter turn on the low side and then up your idle to match

Jb is right if that don't do it then you gto another issue but fatten up low speed

I have an 036 with same problem. Turned out to be a leaky flywheel side seel

nozzle check will do that if its not sealing good. do you have a ultra sonic cleaner?

I had a cheapie Homelite saw that wouldn't idle down..turned out to be a sticky throttle trigger. A little PB Blaster and she was fixed!
