And a 346!Just needs a jred yet
And a 346!
I've not had much to do with the 064 only the 066 and 660.Depends on who you talk to I've heard that the flywheel side of the crank shaft was prone to brake but I think that was more so with the 066 but even then I've never seen it happen in person there pretty darn tuff.
That saw payed for it self 100 times over got years of hard work out of it before the crank snapped replaced the crank with a parts saw crank and got years more work out of it.I think it's just luck of the draw more less you can wind up with a bad or good crank.lol
Yes found that out with this saw and I don't even run long bars apparently it's worse if running long bars cracking the case around the rear bar stud.661 crack the pto side case along the bar pad

But that's just one of many problems that apparently don't exsit with the 661 like the recoil starter is weak after they get a few hrs up as a work saw, along with all the mtronic problems but that was probably all just me expecting I could work one the same as the old 064/066/660 it replaced.
I'll take any of the old saws over the 661 if I had years of work to do with one but that's just me.

Why are u always using hardnose bars?Yes found that out with this saw and I don't even run long bars apparently it's worse if running long bars cracking the case around the rear bar stud.

One less thing to go wrong they are a tuff as nails bar also there is not much in it for me on a work saw sprocket or hardnose put a blindfold on me I couldn't tell the difference. But I was shown how to maintain hardnose bars by the old timers. Why are u always using hardnose bars?
In all your vids i see them
The 660 spring has 5 coils instead of 4 on the 661 too I see from the picture. Probably stronger because of heavier shoes?I put 660 clutch shoes in the 661 to help with the slipping clutch. It was slipping bad with a 25in bar .404 buried in timber like steel box/grey gum/ironbark the heavy 660 clutch shoes fixed this problem.
You still need to use the 661 centre clutch shoe carrier it's crank is bigger.

I wouldn't worry about it I've only had/seen the one snapped crank in my time seen them take crazy amounts of abuse for a saw.I just wish you could get a beefed up crank for a 660 it's the only weak link in a good saw here in Aus
