Evidently it’s a foam filter that you oil and put over your existing one.

Yeah, I just haven’t seen one of those on a saw. I’d be concerned it’d get to hot for the foam.

M2, already got rid of the base gasket. Squish is at .030". Not bad. Muffler is an open design. Id do a mod on it with an additional outlet if it was mine, but its not. Didnt mess with the timing. It seems to run strong and started easy after sitting for about 6 months in a box.
Do you by chance know where the tank vent is located?
I pressure tested it. Clamshell to plastic cradle seam was leaking a bit. Fixed that. Vacuum held, but leaked down slowly. Held pressure fine. I'm going to check it again, but I think a lot of the problem is the vent. Its running out of fuel.

That hole in the recess is where the vent goes.

I’ve found the lower half of the clam shell connectors loose on a 345 after it passed pressure but had a slow leak on vacuum. Owner said it ran well until hot and then wouldn’t restart until cooled. Tightened that and it seemed to be the fix.

For the muffler I just meant make sure the muffler inlet is atleast as big as the cylinder outlet. And a little more opening on the spark screen.

Yep, those screws were loose on this one.
Thanks for the locate on the tank vent.
Looks like I can just loosen the av stuff and get to it.

Well looky here! Dont believe thats factory. Original vent must have come off, and someone stuck that on there thinking it would fix the leak. Guess it did.....1201191045.jpg

Is there a conventional carb available to replace the auto tune carb on the 562?

A tire kicker (bar kicker?) pointed out they have a poor reputation around here. [emoji848]

Went with a grub screw for tank vent for now. Headed to the wood pile.

There are a couple versions of vents for those. The grub screw approach with a long enough piece of hose should work just fine.

Anyone here tried a "warhawk" branded cylinder kit on a 550 or a 576?

5200C931-250C-4316-9CA1-2D69D1F54784.jpeg This 61 has what looks like some sort of semi ported transfer. First thing I noticed was the gasket covering the transfer area and then followed that to the crankcase. It looks like a mismatch. Anyone know what I’m looking at here?
