I don’t disagree about the ms 250 being overpriced some but I know a lot of them that have cut 10 cords of firewood a year for many years with very little maintenance. So while not the best saws made I would put them above the poulans. But the poulans are 150-200 for the bigger ones not 299 like a 250 on sale. So it kinda is an apples to oranges comparison going by price ect until the poulan becomes a husky or jonsered with 50$ plastic surgery. And no the 250 isn’t built 2 times as good so it’s over priced in my opinion also. Anybody looking for a firewood saw I send them to get a 346xp or 261. Smallest homeowner saw I’ve told anyone to get is the ms291 or the 455 rancher. I don’t care for the 350/450 husky or the 271 stihl. The 50$ is well worth to go me to get a 291 but if a person can afford a pro saw they’re better off in the long run in my opinion. In fact I’ve suggested a good condition used pro saw instead of a new homeowner saw many times.

And I’m just throwing my opinion out here not saying I’m right or you have to agree with me, also wasn’t trying to start the stihl vs husky debate that’s been hashed out thousands of times. Was only stating that I think calling a poulan a husky and charging more is wrong. Put all three side by side on a shelf and say pick your color 149$ or whatever the price is and leave it at that. Don’t lead people to think your getting the husky you paid extra for over the poulan next to it. Sell it for the same price as the poulan so that person who needs a husky for the four wheeler so it matches his 562 doesn’t have to pay extra.

Electrolux marketing at work. Not Husqvarna, Poulan, J-red, or anyone else. People buy what they want to buy (or can afford) for their own particular reasons and always will.

I was just politely informed (thanks, Tim) that Husqvarna actually parted ways with Electrolux some time ago and would themselves be the evil marketing force I mistakenly attributed to Electrolux. Where have I been for the past 15 years? Sheesh.

Sincere apologies to Electrolux. LOL

Electrolux made good vacuum cleaners once. Now they suck because they don't.

They spun off Husky and their companies in 2005 to focus on indoor stuff. Husky has no association with Elux anymore.

Husky's worldwide sales last year were over $4 billion USD. All OPE.

I measured the bore and stroke with a stick and I think it's a 280 piston and cylinder on a 2100 the 2100 is the only one with the manual oiler I have found.

For my specific firewood needs my 572 xp for felling and bucking and the 346 xp / ne. for limbing . At 65 yrs young a 2 saw operation makes sense !
Great pair! Welcome to the forum, have any pics of the dynamic duo?

Finally got this little gem going nicely. Had it running nice and then all of a sudden not so much had a BAD hesitation then stopped. It sheared the flywheel key. Retimed fire back up and there she ran like a top!
Originally needed new piston, got a new oem piston, cleaned original cylinder up. passed P&V had to pick up several parts that were missing when I bought it but it’s running well now.
