I was rewatching the Swedish video and Lars-Erik Larson said if it weren’t for the C85 chain he would get get the 462, but with Husky’s C85 he would take the 572xp.
They said the C85 572xp cut a cookie in 2.2 seconds, the 462 cut the same cookie/log in 3 seconds, and the 572xp cut the cookie with old Husky H42 chain in 4 seconds.
The H42 chain is a rebadged Oregon 73LPX which in my opinion bucks slower then a H48/73LGX.
The MS462 which uses a 33RSC comparable in cutting times of a H48/73LGX .....would out cut a 572XP with a H42 chain if there was any truth in Larson's video.

I think the day Husky can confidently say goodbye to the 372xp & cease production knowing it won't affect their sales in 70cc class will be the day the market has accepted their new tech in this class. It will be funny selling 3 70cc pro saws at once, but when that 372 is done hopefully folks embrace this new 572xp. I've said many times they should have released this saw 5 years ago & twiddling their fingers has let Stihl engineer a really stout 70cc 462. Its kinda cool what they are doing with new chain, at least their actively developing and testing new chain styles.

But what I see with the 572XP is they developed what looks like a 70cc saw with a very strong bottom end. Only trouble is they need at least a 87cc p/c on it.
Which will probably come later, but what they do have now looks like a pure bullet proof 70cc.

My thoughts exactly. I think it would have been pure dynamite with a 50mm bore for the 70cc class size saws and why they didn't I have no idea. Maybe they plan to once the stihl ms500 comes out....and a 90cc version is what I am really hoping for:)

From looking at the full circle crank in the 572XP I think of the crank in my Yamaha YZ bike saw.
If trued to zero there is so much more potential for performance .

Nothing new. Some of the fastest stock appearing saws on earth at competitions back in the 1970's 1980's and beyond were stuffed with those cranks.

You got to watch this 5 minute video he calls "Hyper Racing Crankshaft Secret." Extremely brilliant.
I heard about this race saw trick back in the 1980's but never bothered with it.
But I sure will look at it, now that it's explained properly to me.

I checked out his business and he's based out of Norway.
You'll notice at the he start in some of his vids he likes to pour a shot of rum before he gets started.
He does pretty good explaining things, seeing English is not his first language.
His English does stumble a bit when he gets deep into explaining porting in North American and European slang.
