I have a 266 and so does P61 western (mike). They're both silver tagged '86 models and only 16 weeks apart. His first 3 numbers are 632 and mine is 616. His an XP and mine is an SE. We're curious what the serial number break is between SE and XP. Anybody have some info? Thanks ahead of time.

@Tor R What can you tell us about these 2 266's by the serial numbers? How long was the se run for?

the carb is the biggest different, that is when it went from SE to XP., xP use the 224 carb. Can it be late 85, early 86?
Lol I have no clue on the numbers on these things. At the top of this page is pics of my serial number for the xp and Dales for the se.

The original crank said 86 week 35, and that's all I know.

you, that make sense that it is a 266 XP.
If tou study your carb it will be a tilly 224 A B or C
The carb is a 224a. What would be on a 266se, and is that the only difference between the xp and se?

There are 3 IPL's for 1986, 1986-01, 1986-04 and 1986-12. The first two are clearly SE/SG models and the last XP/XPG. So...is the 01, 04 and 12 the month designation? How does this translate to what saw you have? I believe for real world ordering parts, everything is superseded to the most current part available for purchase.

Is there any cylinder differences to look for on these?

It looks like my carb is stamped 8163a50. Its hard to read. Is the 224 better on these saws?

Isn’t there and open and a closed port cylinder for these?
