There are also 'tweeners that still have se on the tag but xp on the covers, as was typical I don't think it was a completely clean transition.

There are a number of various cylinders but I don't know what the actual differences are.
And there was a Gilardoni but was closed port AFAIK...

Info I have says Mahle 50ZN11 W2, 50ZN13 w1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10 and Gilardoni 5034479

The way the IPL's look, I'd have say. It was a rolling change in '86.
But that's all I have to go by.
Cool thank you very much Brian.

Yep that would be great. I never realized how many different variants there was. So as I understand it 1986 was the first year of the 266xp?
I have 15 different IPL's just for the 266.
A guy would have to really study them to find the differences.

Wow that's a lot of material for sure. I was just more interested in the timeline for the 266se and the 266xp. Acres showed the xp starting in 1981, but I'm guessing that is incorrect.

Looks like the XP decal on the top cover came first. Then in the next they show the XP decal on the top cover and recoil.

In '88 ipl they show the first plastic chain break handle.
Changing from the old style metal one.
