They all ran real nice, the 385 seemed pretty tame for a ported one all though
I’ve run several ported 385/390’s. A good ported 70cc saw is really not that far off in terms of cut speed with a ported 385/390xp. Just less torque. Imo they don’t really start to show there increase in power over a ported 70cc saw until your burying the bar in 30+” stuff. Then the gain in torque is much more noticeable.

Exactly! I worked with an older guy who would run nothing other than 390 or 385.
We were cutting smaller 2nd growth .
I talked him into trying my 372 and he was amazed that a saw that small would cut like that. I laughed let him run it for the rest of the day. The following Monday he had himself a new 372. I will never forget that

Yes I understand that, if the bigger saw is running the same shorter bar and sprocket it’s most generally not going to be faster unless it’ll turn crazy Rpms in the wood. Either way nice demonstration.
