Truth be told, there's no substitute for cube's
Definitely hard to beat displacement all things being equal. I’m impressed with the 288 for being a 25+ year old saw though. Still relevant. Torque for days.Truth be told, there's no substitute for cube's
They all ran real nice, the 385 seemed pretty tame for a ported one all thoughDefinitely hard to beat displacement all things being equal. I’m impressed with the 288 for being a 25+ year old saw though. Still relevant. Torque for days.
I’ve run several ported 385/390’s. A good ported 70cc saw is really not that far off in terms of cut speed with a ported 385/390xp. Just less torque. Imo they don’t really start to show there increase in power over a ported 70cc saw until your burying the bar in 30+” stuff. Then the gain in torque is much more noticeable. They all ran real nice, the 385 seemed pretty tame for a ported one all though
I agree with this.I’ve run several ported 385/390’s. A good ported 70cc saw is really not that far off in terms of cut speed with a ported 385/390xp. Just less torque. Exactly! I worked with an older guy who would run nothing other than 390 or 385.I’ve run several ported 385/390’s. Yes I understand that, if the bigger saw is running the same shorter bar and sprocket it’s most generally not going to be faster unless it’ll turn crazy Rpms in the wood. Either way nice demonstration.I’ve run several ported 385/390’s. A good ported 70cc saw is really not that far off in terms of cut speed with a ported 385/390xp. Just less torque.
