You experts have any secrets to share?

Quick heat the race w/ torch and whack w/ a cold chisel?

Buy a $400 specialty tool? (Kinda hoping not this option...)

A bearing puller won`t cost you $400., more like $45. and is worth every penny to me. I can remove them with a quick pass of my mig welder also but usually try the bearing separator first.

You could very carefully cut a groove into it with a Dremel from the outer edge to as close as you can to the crank lobe as you can get as deep as possible without cutting into the crank then stick chisel in the Grove and whack it. Should split down the Grove then basically slide off.

I recently had the same thing happen I ended up using my case splitter with a c clamp to keep the prongs squeezed together to stay on the bearing, will be investing in a set of the removers soon though, but it worked in a pinch and didn't damage anything, just take your time and be careful

I use a MAC tools bearing puller set, but I got a huge set at a price I could not refuse.

I did wind up getting impatient and cut a groove with a dremel. That was enough to get a chisel to bite on it. Add a little heat and a BFH, and it came off relatively painlessly.

Still definitely going to burn a puller set. Thank you guys for all your help!
