If I'm not mistaken, I've had 10,000 bf of rock maple on this truck with a payload of 70 tons. The load pictured here is mostly cherry, probably 50 tons.

Look almost like peelers with those clean end cuts and short lengths ,saw logs around here are 40 footers avg and the end you see is the face and back cut

I doubt if I've burned one cord this winter so far. In NW Louisiana we haven't had much of a winter. If the temps get below 50 my daughter wants to build a fire so she can roast marsh mellows or wieners.

I usually do close to 20 cord a year, OWB heats 2 houses and a garage roughly 6000 sq ft. I'm actually down to about 10-12 cord a season after renovation on one house with new windows and spray foam.

Lol, he's fibbing, 800 cubic metres is 350 cords or so. Being from Europe, it's probably just Beech. There is no way a woodtick from Europe can cut more wood than I can. Lol
Yes you are right are beech , pines and oaks and some poplars some of them give more than a 8-10 cubic meters per tree

I cut and split about 36 cords. Five I burn myself, 10 go to my best friends, and the rest I sell. The ones I sell include truckloads to folks that burn wood for heat and patio/campfire bundles. Last year the patio/campfire market doubled and so did the truckload sales.

One of my buddies is now logging in western Iowa where the 2012-13 flood damage wiped out thousands of trees along the Missouri River. He's hauling 10,000 bd ft per day to the sawmill but it takes two bunk trailer loads. The total job estimate is 3 million bd ft and there may be more. Most of it is being saved for lumber and even the tops for mulch. Monster job.

However, how many board feet of big logs does it take to produce a full cord of processed firewood (128 cu ft)?
