help I broke a farmertec 029 oil cap

yep a lot of folks been been building with these cases. get a poor old crushed 029 going again. be a shame if oil and gas caps unavailable.

Well looks like they are scarce as chicken teeth. Anyone know a glue that works on chainsaw plastic and will stand up to bar oil.

it is the chinese farmertec replacement case the fuel and oil cap are unique to the farmertec product. regular 290 flippy cap will not work i tried it.

I just gave up and put the round button in the middle back in with permatex number 1 only thing I could think of .

the company that actually makes the tanks (not farmertec/huztl) also makes the no-flip badass caps so they include them with the tanks

Did you actually try a Stihl flippy and proved that it didn't work?

it is wacky but those tanks are about 50/50 as to whether a standard flippy works or not
I tested a whole shipment once with 5 different flippys and a couple worked with any cap, one worked only with a new OEM pre-recall cap but all worked with the included no- flippy replacement.
