They destroy all firearms used in a crime or donated here.
Funny how they can determine who owned a firearm when investigating a crime, but they cant spend 5 minutes finding the rightful owner of stolen firearms. Just rubs me the wrong way.

our sheriffs dept used to use a vibratory engraver and engrave the case # on the gun. I once bought a pristine 2nd generation Colt SAA than some idiot deputy had engraved the case # into the back of the grip frame. I’m pretty sure they did it just to be dicks.

Back In the 90s there was a sheriff named carper
It was found out he "disposed" of dozens if not hundred's of firearms nobody knows how many.
He claimed to have buried them in the foundation of his chimney and his house
They never dug it up to check after he died
I worked with his widow for many years
She said she never saw him bury anything
A construction company has built the house and chimney.

I always say, never carry or use for defense a gun that you couldn't stand to lose or is worth a lot. Things get "lost" in evidence all the time and some agencies have a really sh*tty attitude about the payers of their salaries carrying guns. In Kentucky, agencies used to be free to do whatever the hell they wanted with evidence guns, meaning they could legally go into the sheriff or chief's personal collection. Talk about an incredible incentive to confiscate as much as you possibly can!

The S&W SD9 continues to impress me. If ever a 9mm pistol was made for shooting lead bullets it would be this one. It loves the Lee 356-120-TC over just about any charge, currently using 3.4 grains IMR 700X. Reduced power striker and firing pin plunger springs give it a super smooth double action pull that can be easily staged. It will put them all in the same hole if you have the steady hands to do it. Clean up is easy. Never seen any leading, just bullet lube and powder fouling.

Thanks. That bullet I just dip in Lee Liquid Alox and shoot as cast. They drop around .3565.

Their giving these away now
https://gun.deals/product/psa-dagger-compact-9mm-pistol-dlc-slide-carry-cuts-black-29999
I still think the bottom is falling out of the striker fired market
Most everyone has a 400.00 or under offering
Except Glock, sig,Hk and Walther of course.
For example my neighbor gave 510.00 for his non optics ready shield plus when they came out two years ago I think.
Now they are 350.00 with 5 mag's during the special's.

Very good shooting there! Do you cast your own bullets?
I used in the 90s to but trying to find aloy for casting is bloody difficult these days .
Wheel weights are crap now and lead up the barrel real bad no matter what lube you use and for health reasons i wouldn't be able to stand at the bench long enough.
I use these now they are hard cast plated

Wheel weights are mostly zinc here, I won't take them unless they're free. I buy ingots of range lead on fleabay for about $2.50 a pound shipped, works great. Actually better than most factory lead bullets.

Well, I'm now well stocked on S&W SD9's. Just won a nice one with two mags for $149.00 on GunBroker, higher serial number than the one I already have so it must be pretty new. With shipping and FFL still under 200.00.

Sail boat keels are usually filled with lead, a lot of lead. I have enough now I can share my secret. People almost want to give away an old sailboat. Just have to dispose of the boat. Lol

Gave my two 94's some exercise today with 24 grains Hodgdon 335 under the RCBS 150 grain flat point. My pawn shop rescue 1985 model is surprisingly accurate with lead slugs. This is at 65 yards, the best I can do with any gun that has sights including my AR's. Flyers are my fault of course. My scoped Marlins can do alot better certainly, but there is no rifle on the planet that has better feel in the hands when walking through the dense woods than a 94 with sights.

Very sorry to hear that, but not terribly surprising. AR market is saturated right now and I'm surprised more makers don't bite the dust. Hunting rifles actually outsell anything tacticool around here. Bushmaster should have never been sold to Satan's Capital aka Cerberus. They did more damage to the industry than the gun haters ever could have.

I don't know why but I never had good accuracy from that bullet design
One the most accurate loads I for 9mm was actually a very old 148gr .38 special Lyman mold
I had a hi power practical and a cz 75 sa that would shoot 1/2- 3/4" 25yd groups with it
Off a bench rest of course.
I bought several thousand berry's 124gr jhps I'm working a load up for now.
