I'm trying to get used to red dots these are the first pistol dots I've tried IMG_20230807_114116~2.jpgIMG_20230807_114102.jpgIMG_20230807_114143.jpg
I got them close I seem to do better just centering the dot instead of floating it above the front sight post
With my astigmatism i can get a very good sight picture
I prefer the budget cylee optic to the primary arms classic and I also got a crimson trace ct550
The cylee has great clear glass and features it was only 100.00

I bought this glock 23 .40 in 2011 it's been in my safe since IMG_20230814_220759.jpg
I don't recall shooting it much at all
So I saw these trybe .40-9mm barrels for 40.00 so I bought one to run 9mm in it
I couldn't believe how much Glock mags are now they used to be 12-15.00 now they are 26-30.00 locally
It didn't matter anyway because thieves stole all the g19 mag's at my local gun store they had to lock everything up.
I just needed one mag to run 9mm in
But I found the ETS mags for 8.00 each so I got three for the price of one Glock mag
I'll try them out.

I’d be interested to know how the 9mm barrel works in a slide with a .40 cal breech face. I would think that there might be feed/ejection issues. I know there are lots of them sold but I haven’t ever known anyone who had one and used it. would be a nice cheap conversion to have, if it’s reliable.

Barrel locks up solid in the slide
I only ran a couple of mag's through itIMG_20230815_184709.jpg
The poi is high and left compared to the .40 barrel that's dead on for most ammo
No malfunctions and the mag's worked great.
I had early 1.0 S&W m&p compact .40 and a fullsize .40
I'd bought oem 9mm barrels from Midway like 50.00 and some 9mm mag's
I shot thousands of 9mm through them no issues with reliability or accuracy.

The 9mm to .40 conversion barrels are specific to the 23/22 and have the same outside dimensions as the .40 barrel.
Some like the 9 conversions because it adds a bit of extra weight up front due to the smaller bore/bigger diameter.
I've also found the the .40 magazines will work reliably feeding both 9mm and .40 with a sight inward tweak to feed lips.
Also I'm in a commie state so 'preban' 'normal capacity' mags are a thing and the .40 prebans are substantially cheaper than 9's...

Bought a outbags holster for my shield plus IMG_20230818_130541.jpgIMG_20230818_130531.jpgIMG_20230818_130347.jpgIMG_20230818_130319.jpgIMG_20230818_130313.jpg
These are only like 27.00 I've paid triple that for far less quality big name holsters
I have 8 of these now
The first one over 10 years still works great.

ETS mags are really good, I have a couple for my 42. Only thing is, the +1 mags usually wont lock in unless the slide is open. From what I understand, the .40 to 9mm conversion usually requires a 9mm ejector and extractor but not always.

Everything you said makes perfect sense.
I was thinking more about the extractor. Since the 9mm has a smaller diameter case, the extractor would not be at the same angle as when a .40 cal cartridge is chambered. The force exerted by the extractor spring would also be less than with a .40, again due to the smaller diameter of the 9mm case head.
As referenced above, If you changed the extractor as part of the conversion, I can can see this as being a non issue.
I guess the conversions work, or no one would buy them. Still, on a gun to be used for personal protection, I’d be inclined to stay with the original chambering, just to mitigate any potential function issues.

I’ve shot countless rounds thorough my .40 Shield 2.0 with a Lone Wolf 9mm barrel without any changes. I even used the .40 mags. No issues at all.

I prefer kydex holsters. I buy mine from a small family owned maker locally.

Red dot or not, that's really good! Took me decades to consistently do that well!
That was with the tx .22 compact
She has mobility issues so I had her
Set down and get comfortable with it.
I'd bought her a g2c and she's getting more confident shooting it after shooting the .22

I guess the original owners wont be getting them back. At least sell them to the public and put the money back into the budget. So much for fiscal responsibility.
They destroy all firearms used in a crime or donated here.

Our local Sheriffs dept used to auction off guns annually.
Only FFL holders were eligible to bid.
The practice was stopped when Clinton got elected.
Now they destroy the serial numbered parts.
