How can I put this on my chainsaw? I have no idea what it fits but I like it.
And this is the cover

This is a block of black foam. Looks like a chop/demo saw filter.

I was hoping someone had a bottom pic of the filter inlet. Not much to work with so far. I like the filter.

Do you know if it will fit 6401?

that kit fits the whole series of saws....6400, 7300, 7900, 6401, 6421, 7310, 7910

Good. That is a nice Dolkita kit.

Now how do I/we adapt it to a 460 or 660? And every other Stihl that plugs up filters. I'd put it on a 360 if it could fit. 362 also comes to mind. Just the filter not the 7900 kit. Cool though it was that filter.

on that link in the picture...bottom left is the rubber grommet that the air filter just sits on, there is a spring that clamps the base of the filter against that rubber bellow.

try using outerwears on the HD2 filters...I hear really good things about how that works out. or take a look at jmesters pics of the 394 filter horn with a 395 filter adapted to a stihl, he has good luck with that setup.

Just use a V stack and a uni or K&N

No filter or choke. I can put any 2" clamp on filter on it though

I remember that piece that now. You spent countless hours machining that thing.
Does it help spit back with the tight turn?

Interesting. Glad you chimed in!

I thought just the opposite based on the nice elbow on the HD kit. The filter to inlet transition must be a flow killer.

That was me. I thought something was wrong with the saw it felt so choked up. Took that off and it gained a lot

Thanks Mike. I know your saws run upstairs and like to scream. Abandoning this project then. I will not be doing commercial cutting anyway so no need for extended filter time. I was looking for an easy performance upgrade, bolt on.

The filter kit affects the RPM of the 7310 / 7910 and the new Makita EA7300 & EA7900 SLR Engines.

It doesn't affect the older 6400/7300/7900 engines.
