The ground has been bare here for weeks now, we hardly got any snow this year, real strange weather. Shoveled twice, ran the snowblower once, almost unheard of here in igloo land.

Wow, long wait for the power company?
Suprisingly, no. We woke up to no power, but that is hardly uncommon. I went out and kicked on the generator. Mrs Heffalump and I were cozy on the couch watching a little TV when the neighbor showed up at the door and told us that our trees were the ones that had gone down. We had no idea! There's about 12 miles of overhead power from the substation to our barnyard. We've NEVER had any issue on our property, so we never even figured to look.

The funny part was that we had walked over to the other neighbor's house that morning to get his dog. We decided to cut behind the barn, through the stock pen instead of going up through the barnyard.....where we would have seen the mess. HAHA!!!!

Oh well. It was fun.

Wow, adventure is always good. Our neck of the woods loses power a lot so it's actually nice we are off the Grid....
