Does anyone have the serial numbers to the 034 Supers produced by Virginia Beach. According to Stihl, 1990 was the year that they started producing 034, 034 S, 023, and 025. I have an 034S that has a "2" for the start of its serial number and a recoil that has Virginia Beach label on the recoil. I've got a bet with someone that says 034 S were only produced in Germany. Any help to take his money would be greatly appreciated!!!!

first number tells where it was built . 1 for Germany , 2 for USA 3 for Brazil

Yeah, I know it was made in Virginia Beach but did they make any 034 S there (according to Stihls website theyy did) and what serial numbers did they start and end with? All I've heard is 034 S were made in Germany only, I want to know if thats true or not....got money riding on it. It could be a rebadged 034 but I dont think so...

You could have just the 034S cover on that saw. I couldn't tell you by the numbers but the jug would tell you if it's really a super

It's a 48mm Mahle. So I'm assuming it's a super

All about the same serial number...gives me hope. I wish there was some way we could verify it. @Johnmn , @lwhaples did you run the serial numbers through the dealer....dont think so just asking. Mine came up not registered...

I've yet to see a Super that was US Made. Doesn't mean their aren't any, just never seen one.

I believe there were some standard 034 that were USA made.

I've never seen a German made 036. I always assumed the designation changed when USA production of the 48mm saw began.

34S jugs were usually KS, but I've got a rare bird Mahle.

036 jugs usually Mahle, but I've seen some late model 360's with Stihl branded shiny jugs. Not sure if KS or Gillardoni made them.

Yeah, according to Stihls timeline the 034S was assembled in Virginia beach starting in 1990. I wish I could call someone in Virginia Beach to get verification. The one I got from Angelo has a Mahle, definately a 034 S jug.
