Did you mod the oiler?
I noticed the oregon bars have real small oil holes compared to the Japanese bars. I’m sure .063 helps a bit too. My 044 was kinda stingy with .050 20” in hardwood.If the bar is right, it’s not needed, but @CanadianFarmBoy will have to answer that.

Think about it like this Jeff, what wood do they commonly use for handles for tools? Ash and hickory. They make baseball bats out of ash very dense/hardI figured it had something to do with grain
