Just got my 30$ JonCutter G5800.
First impressions:
- all bolts and screws were tight
- stop switch and choke handle fittings need re-engineering. High risk of loosing one when air filter cover removed
- generally speaking Zenoah has been reasonably good chainsaw and this one is a decent copy of it. Quality of assembly has been ok.
- unit had +160psi compression straight out of the box
- squish is enough. 1.6mm
- alignment of H, L and T screws adjusting holes is perfect. So is that rubber grommet.
- instruction manual is good. First time weekend warrior may even stay alive if he/she follows the manual.

- base gasket compressed thickness is maybe 0.6mm so 1mm squish is where we get without a lathe or higher crown piston
- carb (BIG DIN T brand) is very restrictive I guess. Very small venturi.

Just wondering if deleting base gasket right away or maybe some use first...
It seems to have 3/8 rim sprocket. All my chains and bars are 0.325 so 325 8T is way to go for this torque monster 🤭

I'm sure it has the same guts as this 70.00 one i got off Amazon
A good muffler mod and it ran very good
I did take the base gasket out
But i could tell any difference.
It came with a .325 7t setup and did just fine
I gave it to my brother he uses it all the time
I might adjust the timing when i get a chance.

Now it is gutted. True 34mm crank fits to a 32mm case if you happen to have a lathe.
Piston top is like in a orange. I guess it must be polished a bit. Otherwise it will collect carbon like a miner.
Flywheel side sealing surface is not narrow. It is too narrow... 3mm max.

Base gasket compressed thickness was exactly 0.6 mm so it will be 1mm squish then. Tomorrow I'll advance timing half a key and print a degree wheel. Looks like wifeys CDs are too large in diameter so maybe I rob a disk from son's hard drive.
I do have 2pcs of borescopes but for some strange reason I do not have any fcking idea where those are.
Plan is also to get 18" bar and full chisel chain. 8T sprocket is in too. Someone found it necessary to use thread locker in clutch threads so it took a while to remove that 3/8 7T which was in.
Intake system of this model is over engineered crap. Nearly impossible to utilize a carb which has outlet side larger than 16mm. Overall system seems to be prone to air leaks.

If I recall it right exhaust port of this G5800 cylinder is bit high timing wise?

The Neotec 372 is back together. I ended up using a Farmertec cylinder that I had already cut the band and base and a Farmertec 268 closed sided piston with a Carber ring and OEM clips. The carb turned out to be crap so I put an AM one on that I had, it's got problems with the low but it's good enough to get it started. I'll wait until I get a good carb before I try and tune it and see how it cuts.

Sounds decent Ron.

You mean bird house!
Needs a screen for that reason alone. Glad we don't have dirt daubers or very many mud-wasps out here. The paperwasps and above-ground yellow jackets stick to higher up corners or underneath well-covered surfaces like tarps.

I grew up in both Alabama and Tennessee and know how they'll fill any gap they can find.
