I ported a 372 about a year ago...he has been using it for work almost everyday until a week ago it quit on him....he shipped the saw back to me and I found the lower connecting rod bearing decided to weld itself to the crank. So we were wondering if anyone has had any bad luck with aftermarket cranks or should I get a oem...any input would be great. ...oh and it was not a oil issue

A 372 can turn 12,000 RPM in wood, 14,000 free. When runout on a crank is measured in .0001 inches, I'd want the straightest tolerances possible with the highest quality bearings. Having to change one out is quite a job when you're only saving a few dollars up front.

I haven't used AM cranks...partly because the ones I've seen were on sick saws that came here...where the crank was ultimately an issue. Can't say if they created the initial issue or were collateral damage. One had the "stub" for the flywheel a little off...saw ran....retarded. Won't go chapter and verse, but I try to stay with OEM.
