Add "start assistance" to 044?

My pops has a 044 from '98. As he's getting older, he's having a tougher time starting it. Can I add a "start assist" for it? Like what's on the Echo CS-310?

I find the handle to big to grip good and my hands are not small,I like the old skinny plastic stihl handle.

No. Can it be added or do I need to buy a new top end for it?

First step I did for my dad once saws got harder to start. For grip and easy pulling on his hand. Stihl 460 rescue handle $5.

One I had on my no decomp 066.

I made an "EZ-2-Start" 046 Magnum for an older guy once- Snowmobile starter handle, thick base gasket, one piston ring- it blew about 140 psi total.

Ok, seems like we got the handle thing figured out. Now are we certain it's tuned spot on (low side) and the timing is dead on and gapped perfect ? Plug fresh ? Have we really perfected the "starting procedure "?
I would strongly suggest a decomp button either for this saw or on another .

I had a couple decomp 440 cylinders and just got rid of them.
