I've sold a bunch of saws. The one I miss the most is the MS261C.

Wasn't overly impressed with my 261c when I bought it new. Nothing major just seemed doggy at times. After a trip to your little shop it has now been awakened. It definitely has an attitude now.
I grab it all the time now.

Horny er than a 3peckered billy goat.
Colder than a witches tit in a brass bra.
Just some more, way off topic.

How do they wake up Randy?

I remember Ramdy saying they were nice. I built one for a power line trim crew. It didn't take much but that saw turned out amazing.

I agree it is about all you need. Start in the muffler and then give it some ignition timing

Works slicker than deer guts on a door knob.

Madder than a queer with lock-jaw on Valentine's Day... I actually heard that one from a gay dude in the Air Force... LMAO

Sounds like a good work saw.
They are! The 261 in my Sig (technically Dad's) has been a fantastic saw and is used on almost every tree we cut. It's a bit heavy and fat feeling compared to a 346xp or 550xp (which we also now have) but it's torqey as all hell and is tough. It did take about 15 tanks to break in worth a crap. It has worn a 16" bar of .050-3/8" chain since day one and has been used extensively in Hedge as such. It's a lot like a 350 Chevy or 318 Dodge engine, not always the best choice but never a bad one and often performs as the clutch player. I like the C version as well, but the only one I've played with was ported by Snelling, so it's not necessarily an accurate comparison for a stock sample.

Are you saying muff mod and timing advance is all it needs?

So wait, that pro said the Husky with the internal clutch handles and balances well ... wait ... I think Troll & a few others are gonna have a heart attack! The grief that I got about not knowing how the external clutch Husky would out handle my internal clutch Stihl ... and now a guy in competition is choosing an internal clutch Husky ... You just can't make this stuff up!

No but low hanging fruit.

I pulled the limiters in the carb and flowed the carb bore.
Pulled the gasket matched the main transfer to the secondary. Widened the ex. Left the intake alone. It was very strong at 170 psi.

So it wasn't a "c" model?
What do you mean by flowed the carb bore?
