I say originally because when pulling the flywheel I discovered the crankshaft sliding side to side with zero resistance. After splitting the case I found what I expected...20170914_125235.jpg 20170914_125248.jpg

The inner race had spun each side of the shaft down far enough to junk it. So I was very very fortunate to receive replacement from one of our favorite members @jacob j.
Thank you Jacob!!!:campeon:

I regret I didn't get a pic of the replacement, but I'll tell you the weights were still shiny with a mirror like finish, bearings were perfect.

Good Ole Jim, always working on that old metal! Ever grind on one of those? :)
Yes, here's another one I did last year for Ross. He put a pipe in it and I suspect maybe advanced the timing some but I haven't asked him on that.

Ross is getting it dialed in nicely. He had it at the pnwgtg and it was very impressive.

I ran across a little hidden damage in the beginning. These little chunks of the case were flaking loose..20170830_111657.jpg 20170918_120107.jpg

..I picked the the rest of rim clean and smoothed out the area.

Unfortunately what broke loose was magnesium from the case which claimed the cylinder and piston. :(

I searched around and couldn't find anyone with a spare so I decided I'd give up the cylinder with matching stamp piston from my saw. The damaged cylinder had a smaller piston combo so this will be better in the long run.

So add the set brand new oem rings on hand and were now back to this emoji..:headbang:

The stock numbers are: 103-122-69 with the oem gasket, with a squish measurement of 62 thou.

Unfortunately it claimed both the cylinder and piston. :(
